One of the seeming contradictions of the spirit path is that the higher planes of existence are found through the rejection of ego-gratification...PLUS the complete embrace of self-love. Our greatest happiness lies in serving others - that may not sound like fun, but when everybody's doing it, the reality is anything but one-sided. However, to source your giving from love and not sacrifice, you must master self-love. Your ability to love others is a direct reflection of your ability to love yourself. Sadly, you have never yet met a single person who has mastered self-love.
